Today’s Qigong exercises involve the arms, wrists and hands and they are the most frequently used parts of the body. These areas easily develop problems such as tension, arthritis, tendinitis and injury, especially as we get older. With Qi Gong’s gentle stretching and easy, flowing movements, we can improve circulation, clear tightness and pain, and bring healing energy to the arms, wrists and hands.
There are 3 Yin meridians (Lung, Heart and Pericardium) and 3 Yang (Large Intestine, Small Intestine and Triple Warmer) meridians on the arms.
These two simple exercises will relieve tension and tightness in the hands, wrists and forearms. The movement will improve the circulation of blood and fluids and wherever the blood flows the qi (life force energy) follows.
Remember, never force a stretch. Go to the edge of your comfort zone within the stretch but not beyond it. Listen to your body. Your body is full of wisdom.
